What is Krav Maga?
Krav Maga (pronounced "krahv mahGAH") is a self-defense and fighting system that originated in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). The system expands on natural instinctual movements and reflexes to develop faster responses to dangerous threats.
Krav Maga is translated "contact combat" in Hebrew was developed in the 1950s by Imi Lichtenfeld for the Israeli Defense Forces. It combined various martial arts and fight training and adapted for real-life scenarios. There is no such thing as a Krav Maga competition, the concepts of Krav Maga is to in defense of a violent attack to respond with a counter-attack with equal or more aggression to the attacker.
In the late 70s, Imi retired from the military and created the Civilian version of Krav Maga for any citizen to be able to use against an attacker and escape harm. Since then, other tracks have been developed such as law enforcement and security professionals.

What if I am not in good enough shape?
We believe anyone should be able to protect themselves in a violent attack. No matter what age, height, or physical condition. Therefore, no matter what physical condition you are in, it is time to start. We ask YOU to mind and pay attention to your own conditioning and step out if it becomes too much. We do try to push our students physically because the better fit a person is the better equipped they will be to fight back in a bad situation.
